For a while now the halls of the guild have been quiet, The warriors that once feasted and shouted loud across the halls have gone on many adventures to the realms of the real world. We are uncertain how and when many of them will return to once again fill the guild with the drunken laughter and tell of the glories of great battles. There are still the dedicated yet some what absent minded warriors who seem to gather cobwebs as they have rarely moved in the guild. But dispite all that we have new blood trickling it's way and are starting to fill the halls again, these have been the fortune few who have avoided the agressive grilling and questioning to see if they are worthy. From this the statuest of warriors are creaking with movement. Getting excited at the fresh souls to torment.
The Guild is coming alive again and with that the vacant positions will be sort for the forsaken.
Additionally the webspace will be looking at an overhall so that once again it can be proud to enter the web competitions and get our ever faithful healer back.
We will once again be the glorious guild that the realms will fear!.

The 6 month term of the current leaders are up and the confidence vote is now under way. Also two seats in the Council of Warriors are up nominations are now taking place.
|
|
The Council of Warriors nominations occurred simultaneously with leadership elections (Feb 28-Mar 6), while the election itself was held March 13-March 23 (extension from the original week because of the downtime of RoD over the weekend).
The newly formed Council of Warriors decided that Jarhielt would move up to the Guild Second position, after Crovius stepped down during the CoW election.
Congratulations Jarhielt! May your blade forever protect the virginities of maidens!
The new Council of Warriors representatives are:
Nurodma (1 year seat - has previously served in the CoW and even leadership. Has also served as IT-Leader for a while now)
Tywynn (1 year seat - the only new blood and female in the CoW, represent! Also has been involved in MC.)
Bern (6 month seat - former Guildmaster [first one after the re-opening], has been involved in too many councils to mention and been in the guild for over 5 years.)
Morcerf (6 month seat - another previous CoWer re-elected, has also been in leadership before)
Congratulations to the new fully formed Council of Warriors (3 leaders + 4 at-large members)! Honour above everything, brotherhood always.

After a week of Nominations (Feb 28-March 6) and another week of elections (March 6-March 13), the elections results were posted! It was a close race and voter turn out was huge. Despite leadership losing the confidence vote earlier, guildies seemed to favour experience above all.
The results were
Ryals: 36
Lathir: 29
Crovius: 27
Jarhielt: 24
So, Ryals becomes GM after all! So, the confidence vote did not really change anything, but could be interpreted as if voters were sending a message that they wanted change (so new leadership does not repeat previous mistakes). Lathir, a former leader and current initiator of most of the bigger runs we currently do becomes our First. Lastly Crovius, someone new to GoW leadership (and I think organization leadership itself) and another big runner (also writer of our last Inter-Guild Quest) becomes our new Second.
Speculation aside, congratulations to our new leaders:
Ryals (Guildmaster, Guild of Warriors)
Lathir (First, Guild of Warriors)
Crovius (Second, Guild of Warriors)

Many big events have occurred this last week including:
Our First (Bulgroth) becoming an immortal! Congratulations Bulgroth, we wish you the best as an imm. We'd like to thank you for your contributions as a leader of GoW, as well as being on CoW, QC-L, MC, IT, RC Co-L, GIA as well as countless other duties of dealing with guildees and essentially acting as a Guildmaster, while Syniad was going through some rough patches in real life. We honour you by adding you to the wall in the leader chambers. May your immortal blade be ever sharp!
Syniad, our Guildmaster stepping down for real life reasons after leading our guild though the rough patches as well as times of prosperity. Thank you for your time and contributions to GoW, including to the positions and councils of: Guildmaster, CoW, WPC-L, QC-L, IT, MC as well as dealing with all the issues and concerns of guildees fairly and patiently. You will be missed and honoured on the wall in the leader chambers. Honour above everything, brotherhood always!
A guild meeting (on short notice) was called after some members voiced their concerns about leadership. Details of the meeting are on forums.
After a vote of non-confidence, a full re-election of Leaders and the Council of Warriors is set to occur over the next month. Dare I say, it looks to be the beginning of a new chapter for the Guild of Warriors. Let us learn from our previous mistakes re-energize our resolve in this new era.
